It's gets better - turns out that ALL images taken with a digicam are deliberately blurred, only very slightly, but easily noticable if you look close.
So when I found this out I did some testing with Irfanview (excellent free image software) and used the "sharpen" tool in the menu...
It was as if I'd been looking at my photos through a dirty lens for all this time, it really made the images look real. So I've just sharpened up some of my recent dA stuff and it looks much better for it.
So my advice to you is simple, don't rely on a good quality camera for good quality pictures - sharpen up and see your pictures come alive.
